Raw Food Diet, Day 290- On Preparing for My Guest

I found out just last night that my grandhuman is coming to visit! Can't you see my excitement? No really... I'm super pumped. It's been a year since I last slobbered on my grandhuman and I can't wait to do it again. I'm a bigger beast now and even better at it. We're talking full slobber coverage now! Sweetness. I hope she's ready!

To Prepare for grandhuman's arrival, Big Pupi and I made sure that the apartment was up to snuff and ready to impress. First I nibbled on dad's sock for a while, just to make sure it would be nice and soggy for when grandma arrived.
Then all that quality chewing made me sleepy and I tested out the sock as a snoozel snuggly - just in case grandma got lonely and needed something that stank of Stanislaw to sleep with. I'm very comforting like that.
Mom put on some Animal Planet (my favorite!) while she was cleaning to keep Pupi and me occupied. We really like the sounds that come from those shows. Pupi is especially obsessed with any and all kitty sounds. He'll bounce awake from the deepest of snoozels when he hears a one of those kitten/alien dogs and he looks for them like a mad man.

He helped prepare for grandma by ensuring that our home was free of feast-stealing cats. He checked behind the TV table~
And in the CD player (in the outside chance that a rare frisbee-kitty tried to hide)~
And assessed the status of the DVR cubby~
And between the wall and the TV~
Nope. No luck this time. Danggit!

After all that kitty hunting and sock preparation, Pupi and I decided that we needed to refuel and tried to move dad's dinner feast into our mouths with the power of the spaniel stare.
I learned on that night that the spaniel stare isn't all that powerful. Arg.

Mom said that there's still one more thing that we need to do before grandma arrives. She never said exactly what that is, but she promised that I'll find out as the day goes on. I hope it involves feasting! I did catch a glimpse of her taking out our grooming bag and preparing towels by the tub. And I saw that bottle of green goo that she rubs on my butt that makes me smell like fresh mountain breezes and morning dew. Major yuck-o. But seriously... even my dorky mom knows how important it is for me to stink like a beast, especially if grandhuman is in town! I mean, without my manly smell how will she ever recognize me?

So what else is there to do before she arrives?
I'll let you know once I find out.

Stanislaw the Man-islaw.

Yikes! I think I know what the "other thing" is. But I'm not going to say it out-loud. Maybe she'll forget and you won't have to get a bath - Dang it! I said it.

Have fun with your Grandhuman and make sure to rub all over her and get her scent on you so you can sleep well at night.

luv

Oooh, I am jealous that you are getting a visit from Grandma. My grandma is super fun too!

You sure are a thoughtful host. I know your Grandma will appreciate that. I like to make sure I turn back the covers for any guests - just like in a fancy hotel.

I wonder what that last thing is too!

OMD you are so lucky to have your grandma come to visit, Stanislaw! Maybe you can crawl into her bed and keep her feet warm at night!

I have a funny feeling that you might be getting a b-a-t-h. I can't bring myself to say the word; I have to spell it. Good luck, friend!

I've got TWO dog shows this weekend and my Human has been ticking off things on the Prep List.

She's got a nice clean shirt all starchy and stiff.

She's stocked ultra-tasty treats, AKA "bait". What am I, some kind of tuna?

She said there's only One Thing Left To Do.

And it involves a bottle of blue goo. Hmmm.

Well, Stan. It was real nice being so doglike—but I know and YOU know we both have a Date With Destiny!

Stan, you are so lucky! And you are so nice to do all those preparations for your grandma. Maybe you can find something appropriate to roll in just before she gets there.

Hee hee, those pictures of Big Pupi were awfully funny. Mica used to sit on top of the TV and hit the Miss America contestants as they walked down the runway! And our dearly departed wire fox terrier would race around the set whenever there were horses or elephants on the screen. She went nuts during the buffalo stampede in Dances with Wolves!

Have fun with your grandhuman and remember that your familiar stink is just a mud-puddle away...

Your pal,

Petey

So thoughtful of you to prepare a stinky soggy sock for your Grandma. I am sure she will appreciate it. Grandmas are much more susceptible to the spaniel (or the setter) stare so maybe you will have better luck getting extra treats from her. Have fun.

Your friend,
Niamh

I think that was just so super nice of you to get that sock all pre-slobbery for Grandma. Now I know what to give mine for Christmas!!
PS: Paris says you are looking extra lovely in that last photo....

OMD I never thought of preparing a soggy sock with my stank for our guests! I will have to try that next time someone comes over!

My girl doesn't let us watch Animal Planet any more... she says Mean Sister Fig and I get "too worked up." I just LOVE LOVE LOVE those lions and tigers I see on there!

Big Pupi is very thorough looking for those kitties, isn't he! We have a window right beside our TV and when we hear suspicious noises coming from the black box we're at the window in a flash!
Have fun with grandma! We're sure you guys will make her visit VERY special!

hi stan.. or is it man-islaw now? *snicker* i am so excited about your grandhuman's visit. i think i have an idea what the next agenda will be. i'm not sure about you guys but i love "it". As for your manly scent, there is always one effective and rather manly way of making it pronounced *wink*- although this might involve a lot of squealing from the hoomans.. BOL..

let us know what happens to Big Pupi's cat search!

drooly kisses,

Aki

I think a B-A-T-H is a small price to pay for a lovey visitor you haven't seen in a year!

I have to remind my humans that when I slobber on their socks, it's so they can bring a little Eau de Biggie with them to work.

Sniffs, Biggie
