- Hi, my name is Stanislaw and I'm a 5(ish) year old rescued cocker spaniel who eats an entirely raw diet. Some people call this diet "B.A.R.F." or "Prey Model", but I call it awesome. In fact, I'm feasting on a raw turkey neck right now. My blog chronicles my experiences with the raw diet and treatment for Canine Compulsive Disorder, and offers a peek into holistic pet care.

Allergies and Intolerances
What makes a homemade diet so great? Not only is it without cheap fillers and chemicals, but it can be modified to fit any dog with any kind of food allergy or intolerance. Look at Pupi's and my lists of off-limit foods:
Stanislaw
eggs, bananas, wheat, corn, potato, rabbit, venison
Big Pupi
wheat, corn, preservatives, colorings, shellfish, rabbit, venison, whiting
These items used to make our tummies sad, cause chronic ear infections, or make us itchy all over. But now that our diet is so simple to control, our humans can ensure that we never get these offending foods. Removing reactive items makes your immune system stronger, and makes for a healthier pup. Plus, by rotating proteins you can actually control your reactions, which for us meant that we could once again include poultry in our diet. As long as we don't get it more than once or twice a week, we're fine! Pretty amazing, right?

Great video, Stan! My mom was singing a song by the Vengaboys last night on karaoke. Something about Boom Booms. You and her should sing together if ever the both of you meet.
